(1) light quality
The density of polypropylene fiber is 0.90-0.92 g/cm, which is the lightest of all chemical fibers, 20% lighter than polyamide fiber, 30% lighter than polyester, 40% lighter than viscose fiber, so it is suitable for fabric of winter clothing or skiing and mountaineering clothes.
(2) high strength, good elasticity, abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance
Polypropylene fiber has high strength (dry state and wet state). It is an ideal material for making fishing net and cable. It has good wear resistance and resilience, similar to polyester and polyamide. The rebound rate is comparable to nylon and wool, much larger than polyester and viscose fiber; the dimensional stability of polypropylene fiber is poor, it is easy to take off and deform, resist microbe and moth resistance. Drug sex is better than general fiber.
(3) electrical insulation and warmth retention
The resistivity of polypropylene fiber is very high (7 x 10 Omega.Cm), and the thermal conductivity is small. Compared with other chemical fibers, the electrical insulation and warmth retention of polypropylene fiber are the best, but it is easy to produce static electricity.
(4) poor heat resistance and poor aging resistance
Polypropylene fiber has low melting point (165~173 C) and poor stability in light and heat. Therefore, polypropylene has poor heat resistance and aging resistance and is not resistant to ironing. But aging resistance can be improved by adding anti-aging agent when spinning.
