SMS, a composite nonwoven fabric. It was developed by an American company, initially used in health materials, filtration materials and so on.
The SMS composite nonwovens of spinning mesh nonwovens (S) and melt blown nonwovens (M) are first developed by an American company more than 20 years ago, and then they have been successful in the application of sanitary materials and filter materials. The thin spinning web forming nonwoven material has good mechanical properties, but its pore size is large and its permeability is poor. However, the filtration and shielding properties of non woven materials with ultrafine fibers are excellent, but the tensile strength of the non woven materials is low because of their special technical conditions. Therefore, the combination of melt blown and spunbonded technology produces SMS composites. SMS composites are mainly used for surgical clothing materials and operation room curtain materials. In the middle, the non woven material can effectively prevent the penetration of blood, body fluid, alcohol and bacteria, and the structure of superfine fiber can ensure the smooth permeation of the sweat steam. The polypropylene spunbonded non woven materials in the upper and lower layers have high strength and wear resistance, and the filament structure ensures the production of non fiber weave, which is beneficial to the clean environment required by surgical operation.
