Difference between flat loom and circular loom

At present, China's geotextiles produced by slitting and film cracking are produced by flat loom, and some are produced by circular loom. The circular loom has 4 shuttles, 6 shuttles, 8 shuttles, and a wide width. Up to 4m. However, it needs to be cut with a knife and then fixed by hot melt or the like. The geotextile produced in this way is inferior in quality to the production of flat loom.

Since the circular loom has no beating mechanism, when the weft yarn enters the shed, there is no forced beating, so the density of the weft yarn is low, which is only 60%-70% of the geotextile of the general flat loom, so the strength is naturally affected. In addition, the gap of the fabric is large, and if it is used as a filter fabric, the soil is easily lost.

At present, the weft insertion mechanism of the circular loom used in China is fundamentally different from the flat loom. The flat loom relies on a picking mechanism or a weft insertion mechanism such as a rapier, a jet, a gripper, and a water jet. The circular loom only relies on the transmission mechanism under the yarn sheet to rub the shuttle in the transmission shed through the lower layer of the yarn. Since the transmission mechanism must embed the yarn into the transmission shuttle, the strength of the yarn layer is seriously damaged, generally above 10%.

It can be seen that the circular loom is suitable as a processing bag-shaped fabric, but the quality is inevitably limited by the processing of the geotextile.
